Salsa dancing lesson video. This move is called the DPS lock combo because you place the follow’s arms in a similar fashion to the way the ‘Department of Public Safety’ (DPS) places yours if you ever get arrested by them. The reason for this name is because its a variation on both creating a wrap with the lady, but also having both arms in a kind of hammerlock position.

This salsa combo is kind of tricky to perform, so practice it various times at home to get the timing down: especially the mechanics of moving around the lady and moving their arm down (so you don’t break it). http://addicted2salsa.com/videos

Video Tutorial – Salsa: Lesson 1/12 Warm up Program – Salsa is a very energetic Latin dance. Lots of fun, complete with spins, sharp movement, and crisp turns.
Salsa is originally Cuban with deep Afro-Caribbean beats, and additional musical influences from Son, Guaguancó, Rumba. This dance is also similar to Mambo in that both have a pattern of six steps danced over eight counts of music.
Salsa is normally a partner dance, although there are recognized solo forms, line dancing (suelta), and Rueda de Casino where groups of couples exchange partners in a circle.
The name “salsa” is the Spanish word for sauce, connoting, in American Spanish, a spicy flavor. Salsa also suggests a “mixture” of ingredients.
It’s a great dance to learn if you want to break into the latin club scene all over the world!

Like what my little caption said at the bottom of the screen… please do not mind the flashing “trial converter”. Haha the story is that I got a new digital camera and the video is HD.. WELL with it being a whole new level of video, the files didn’t match up with my video editing maker whatever you want to call it… So I downloaded this program… and if it works out good for me for the next 30 days.. I’m going to buy it! haha

Props to Marlon “Nemo” for choreographing this routine… dopeness! I’m not so great at this… exp the tutting! So dont mind my skills… I used to do dance before I sang, but it was in HS… Oohh I miss it… Hula/tahitian, ballet, and hiphop! So I’m just having fun with these dance classes… please do not take me serious even though my FACE is serious. Hahaha! I can’t even remember where I first saw this clip, but it’s from a Cuban television show called “Para Bailar Casino.” This particular style of Salsa dancing had usually been unique to Cuba and Miami, but is starting to spread slowly to wherever Salsa dancing happens around the world. So, it’s still fairly rare to see a Chinese guy (or any non-Cuban) who is this skilled at casino style Salsa. He has plenty of moves but, more importantly, he captures the fun spirit of the dance. The crowd obviously responds well, as you see them stand up and cheer!

In the video clip, there is a caption saying the name of the Chinese man is “You Fei Huo,” but apparently his real name is Yaofei Huo. For us English speakers, he goes by “David” Huo. He teaches in Beijing, China at a place called Casa De David, and his website is:
