Erinpaula in a dance class pt. 2 (”Lollipop” Lil wayne/Kanye West) bay area

23rd June

Like what my little caption said at the bottom of the screen… please do not mind the flashing “trial converter”. Haha the story is that I got a new digital camera and the video is HD.. WELL with it being a whole new level of video, the files didn’t match up with my video editing maker whatever you want to call it… So I downloaded this program… and if it works out good for me for the next 30 days.. I’m going to buy it! haha

ANYWAY:
Props to Marlon “Nemo” for choreographing this routine… dopeness! I’m not so great at this… exp the tutting! So dont mind my skills… I used to do dance before I sang, but it was in HS… Oohh I miss it… Hula/tahitian, ballet, and hiphop! :( So I’m just having fun with these dance classes… please do not take me serious even though my FACE is serious. Hahaha! Okay here I go ranting as if you guys actually read all of this… and if you do… LOVE YOU for caring.

Hope you guys LIKE the video.. favorite and or subscribe!

Should I take ballroom and latin dancing lessons?

21st June

I am 15 and really want to take ballroom and latin dance lessons. I think I am going to take it at the YMCA. I really want to learn since I love Dancing with the Stars and watching them dance! It seems like so much fun! The only thing is I am taking a beginner class- but it is all ages and I’m afraid it will be mostly adults. When learning you have to rotate and dance with everyone and I don’t really want to be the only teenager. And it would be really awkward! Should I take the lessons? I am really nervous about the lessons. Also if you know of any great studios with great lessons in the Philadelphia area that would be great! Any advice or information and your experiences or thoughts is greatly appreciated! Thanks! :)

Yes! I have just started Ballroom and Latin dancing with my friend (we are also teenagers), and it was great fun! I’ve only been for one proper lesson, but one of the girls has been doing free lessons at school which inspired me, as well as Dancing With The Stars :)

Don’t worry about the beginner classes – mine ranges from 8 year olds to 20 year olds, and all the people there will be nice. If you are really afraid of being the only teenager (but I doubt you will be), then see if you can convince a friend to come along! I go along with my friend, which is great because it makes you less nervous and adds to the fun.

I think that you should go for it, because Ballroom dancing is something that will benefit you later on in life, is really good exercise and is just purely fun.

I’m sorry but I have no idea about good Ballroom and Latin dancing places in Philadelphia! If you know anyone that does it, though, ask them where they go! Otherwise search online or locally for a range of places and see what one suits you best. :) try it, you might/ will probably like it!

Ballroom Dancing Lessons?

15th June

I am 15 almost 16 and really want to take ballroom and latin dance lessons this summer. I am taking it at the YMCA. Has anyone taken it there before? How do they teach? I am taking the classes by myself without a partner and have never taken dance lessons before. Am I too young or old? My friend seems to think for some reason that I’ll get paired with some "creepy old man". Not as in old but as in someone who is way older than me-not a teenager. Is this true? Because I really would rather not do that? Wouldn’t that be really awkward? Has anyone taken dance lessons at the YMCA? Are there good teachers and is it fun? Has anyone taken ballroom or latin lessons? If so, can you describe your lessons, how they were taught, and if it was fun. Thank you! I really appreciate it! I am excited but also nervous, but I really want to learn ballroom and latin! Thanks! :)

I don’t know about the Y, but it’s normal for people in group classes to rotate partners, so you may indeed have to put up with some of us creepy old men. So what? It isn’t a permanent arrangement, but just for a couple of minutes until the partners rotate again, and it’s dance, not romance.

And another answer to a question about fun in Riyadh mentions dance classes at gyms, and "one of the best places to have dance classes at is the "Kingdom Compound". U can even have a hip-hop, salsa and belly dance classes."

Cuban Popular Dance Instruction DVD

8th June

http://www.boogalu.com/generic_untrioinseparable.html
Clip of the Introduction to the Boogalu Productions DVD
“Un Trio Inseparable” Instruction in the traditional popular dances of Cuba.

“Un Trio Inseparable” is a master class for all lovers of salsa, Latin dance, and Latin music, who want to learn and fully explore the three essential popular dance forms of Cuba from which all modern styles of salsa developed – the danzón, son, and chachachá.

Leading the class is musician, dancer, and teacher extraordinaire Roberto Borrell, a Cuban gentleman who embodies his culture and has dedicated his life to perserving and passing on Cuba’s rich traditions. Captivated by the music as a teenager, Roberto learned to dance and play music in the vibrant dance salons and social clubs of Havana in the early 1950’s. see bio on Roberto Borrell

Over the past 20 years while residing the USA, Roberto has developed a comprehensive system of teaching the traditional popular dances of Cuba inspired by the manner in which he learned – the old school “open your eyes, open your ears” method. It’s a simple approach, yet you will be challenged to listen to your feet, to the music, and to become part of what Roberto calls the inseparable trio: the music, man, and woman.

Accompanying Roberto is his favorite dance partner Viola Gonzales. Viola, along with her partner Garry Johnson, are professional dance teachers, and offer salsa classes in the San Francisco Bay Area. www.freestylesalsa.com

Can I become a really great dancer with no past experience?

4th June

I am 15 almost 16 and want to start taking ballroom dance and latin lessons. I have never danced before except when I was about 6 for less than a year. I can’t dance at all! I am also shy, but I really want to try! Is it possible to become a really good dancer even if you have two left feet? Thanks for your help! Thanks! :)

One of my friends is a dance instructor. She teaches a range of ages and you will be able to learn if you sign up for a few classes. If you are shy some teachers will offer private lessons so you can catch up with the rest of the group. Just get into it and don’t worry about how experienced you are.
